October 2026 89 changes
Race Tempo on every profile
Every profile (horse, trainer, jockey, sire, dam, damsire and owner) now has two Race Tempo tables on its Breakdown tab, covering its Flat runs with a reading. By Race Tempo shows runs, wins, strike rate, percentage of rivals beaten (PRB) and profit or loss by how each race was run; By How It Ran shows the same by the horse's note against the gallop. The profile filters apply, and any row can be turned into a System Builder system.
Racecards: every date in view, results newest first
The date bar on the Racecards page now shows each date as a small tile: the day, the date and how many races, with 4-day or 5-day under dates that only have entries so far. Today and the coming days come first, then results starting with yesterday. When the dates do not all fit, use the arrows at each end or the mouse wheel; on a phone, swipe.
Race Tempo in the System Builder and on Meeting Pace
Race Tempo can now be back-tested. The System Builder has rules for how a horse's last race was run, how it raced against that gallop and its Spread, which also find today's qualifiers, plus the same for the race itself, and Breakdowns tables for each on the Sectionals tab. On Meeting Pace, each Flat race keeps its pace label and shows its Race Tempo grade beside it.
Race Tempo: how each Flat race was run
Every Flat race with sectional times now says how it was run: how fast the leaders went over the first half against the usual for that course and trip, with the ground allowed for, graded from Dawdled to Strongly run. A new Race Tempo tab gives each runner's position at halfway, a short note on how it raced against that gallop, and its Spread: the gap between its best and worst furlong against par. The same reading sits beside every Flat run in the sectional form lines.
Data Export: distance travelled on the entries, and saved entries exports stay current
The Entries export has a new Distance Travelled (miles) column: yard to course, from the trainer's latest run at that course. A saved Entries export now always covers today to six days ahead, whatever day you run it, unless you picked narrower dates.
Data Export: your exports and saved exports on tabs
My exports and Saved exports now have a tab each, showing the latest 10 with Show all for the rest. Saving an export takes you straight to Saved exports, and the page remembers which tab you were on.
Jumps Horses to Follow: last season's improvers, followed all season
A new page lists 232 British and Irish jumps horses to follow this season: every horse whose official rating (OR) rose 7lb or more last season, measured hurdles against hurdles and chases against chases, and which won or placed on its last run. Horses picked this way made a profit at Betfair Starting Price (BSP) in six of the last seven seasons. Each horse shows its runs this season and its next entry or declared run, and the list keeps its own record at BSP. Other members see the first ten.
System Builder: run style shares and ranks
Six new tables on the Breakdowns Horse tab show how often each horse has led, raced prominently or been held up before the race, in bands from never to every run, and where that share ranks in the race (1st = the biggest share in the field). Three new rules, % of Runs Led, Prominent and Held Up Rank, work in back-tests and today's qualifiers. Use the Grid with Course or Distance down the side to see which run styles suit each track. A member's idea.
System Builder: "None of" for headgear and course shape
The Headgear rules (today, last time out and earlier runs) and Course Characteristics now offer "None of" beside "Any of". A horse wearing several aids counts for each, so "None of Blinkers" leaves out any runner in blinkers, alone or with other aids. Pair it with "Any of Wind Surgery" to find wind-op runners not in blinkers. A member's idea.
Dashboard: see which races hold your system qualifiers
The dashboard's racecard tiles now carry a teal SYS mark showing how many runners in each race qualify for one of your active saved systems, beside the pattern and notes marks, so you can see which races to look at first. Hover over it to see the horses and which systems picked them. It has its own Systems switch in Show on tiles. A member's idea.
System Builder: headgear combinations
A new breakdown, Headgear (combination), shows every aid a runner wore together as one row, such as Cheekpieces + Wind Surgery or Blinkers + Tongue Strap. Each run sits in one row, so the rows add up to your system, and you can see what a tongue strap or a wind operation adds to blinkers, cheekpieces, a visor or a hood.
What the Starting Price costs you: our own figures
Our page explaining the Starting Price (SP) now shows what a £1 stake on every British and Irish runner since 2023 returned at the bookmakers' Starting Price and at Betfair SP, by position in the betting.
Dashboard: choose which marks the race tiles show
A new "Show on tiles" choice at the end of the racecard filters on the dashboard lets you turn each mark on the race tiles on or off: Hcp, Age, Market (the market shape), Patterns, Notes and Results. Click one to hide it and again to bring it back. Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to every device, and everything shows until you hide something.
Dashboard: see which races hold your pattern matches and noted horses
On the dashboard's racecard tiles, a gold pattern mark now shows how many runners in each race match one of your active saved patterns, and a pencil shows how many of your noted horses run in it. Hover over either to see the horses, and for patterns which patterns they match, without opening the race. A member's idea.
My notes: see your noted horses that are running
On Runners A-Z, tick My notes beside the date to list only the horses you have written a note about, for one day or every upcoming day. Each one carries a small pencil beside its name; hover it to read the note its racecard will show. The 9pm alerts email now has a Your noted horses running tomorrow section too, with each horse, its note and a link to the racecard. A member's idea.
My Card: open the patterns a runner matches
On My Card, click a runner's Patterns badge to open the saved patterns it matches, right under the runner, as on the Ratings view. Clicking the runner itself still opens its form lines. A member's idea.
Trainer trend: is the yard on the way up or down?
Beside each trainer on the racecard (the Ratings and At-a-Glance views), a small arrow now shows how far the trainer's RaceMetrics Rating has moved in the 14 days before the race: green and up when rising, red and down when falling, grey when steady. Hover for the 28-day move and how many runs each covers. The form lines have a T Trend column too, showing how the yard was going into each run. The trend takes in where every runner finished, so a yard can be on the way up before the winners come. A member's idea.
System Builder: speed figure par tables, race classification, Career Runs run by run
Speed Figure (this race) is the figure each horse ran to in the race, as a rule and two breakdown tables. Add Finishing Position = 1 and put the one-line-per-figure table down the side of the Grid, with Class across the top, to see the figures each class takes to win. It is known only after the race, so it never finds qualifiers. A Classification table splits a system by kind of race (handicap, maiden, novice, Group and so on), and Career Runs now gives 1, 2 and 3 previous runs a line each. A member's idea.
Profiles: filter by the horse's age
Every profile page (horse, trainer, jockey, owner, sire, dam and damsire) has an Age filter: 2yo to 7yo, 8yo+, 3yo+ and 4yo+, by the horse's age at each run. It narrows every tab, so a trainer or sire page can show the record with two-year-olds only, and it is kept when you save the view as a pattern. A member's idea.
Form lines: days since the last run
Every form-lines table now has a days since last run (DSLR) column beside the date, showing how many days each run came after the one before it, so a horse's breaks read straight down the form. It is blank on a debut. If you have already chosen your own form-line columns, add it from the Columns button. A member's idea.
Breeding tab: the trip behind each sibling's best rating
On a horse's Breeding tab, each sibling now shows the trip it ran over off its best official rating, on the Flat and over jumps, beside that rating. Where it ran off that mark at more than one trip, you see the shortest to the longest.
Race Guides: watch a Daily Stats line
The bell on a Daily Stats line can now watch the statistic itself, for example a trainer at course and distance, or a sire on Heavy. The 9pm email lists the runners on tomorrow's cards that carry a watched line.
Race Guides: tracker bells
A bell beside each name on Race Guides, in 18 places across the page, lets you track a horse, trainer, jockey, pairing, sire, dam, damsire or owner, or every runner from a past race, with an optional note. Each one is saved as a pattern, so it shows on your racecards and in the 9pm email.
Data Export: download the entries
Choose Entries to download the five-day to overnight entries from today to six days ahead: race and runner details, current RaceMetrics Ratings and the Combined Score, breeding and the last run, with horses taken out marked. Tick Changes file for a second file of every change, and save it to run daily for a fresh entries file at 4pm.
Future racecards: the entries from five days out, with RaceMetrics Ratings
The dashboard date strip now runs up to a week ahead, with the entries for every British and Irish race from the five-day stage. Open a race for every horse with its current RaceMetrics Rating, its trainer and jockey ratings and the Combined Score (any paid plan), plus weight, official rating and last run. Horses taken out stay greyed at the foot, a change log records every change, and once the declared card is out the race opens on the racecard.
Draw & Pace: follow each race's going
Two tick boxes beside the Draw & Pace going filter make it follow each race as you move round the card: Today's going, or Today's going and one step either side for a bigger sample. Both are off until you tick one.
The 3D Pace Preview is open to members
The 3D Pace Preview, beside Predicted Running Styles on every racecard, shows how the early pace of a race is likely to unfold from each runner's sectional history. It is part of RaceMetrics Pro and Proform Premium with the Sectionals Add-On.
Abandoned meetings come off as soon as they are called off
When a meeting is abandoned, its runners are now withdrawn within about ten minutes of the announcement, even a day or two ahead, with a notification naming the course and the day. Abandoned races are marked in the racecard's race menu and left off Fast Results.
Data Export: choose which daily files you get
Each saved export now has a Daily files choice: results only, declarations only, or both. Exports you saved before keep sending both until you change them.
Data Export: daily card files can wait for the prices
If your daily declarations export includes the evening, breakfast or morning prices, or the RaceMetrics Model Price (RMP), tick "Wait for the prices" and each day's file arrives once those prices are in, instead of two days early with the price columns blank. If a price has not arrived by midday on race day, the file comes anyway and says what is missing.
System Builder: trainer winners, runners in the race, and more
New rules: Trainer Wins over the last 14 and 28 days, Trainer Runners in Race (for a yard with more than one runner), Last Time Out Month (the month of the horse's last run) and a rank for the best speed figure on tracks like today's.
Free page: today's steamers and drifters
A new free page, Steamers and Drifters, shows the day's three biggest steamers and drifters across every UK and Irish meeting, no login needed. Trainers in Form now also lists the three hottest and three coldest yards with runners today.
System Builder: breakdown tables load as you scroll
Breakdown tables are now worked out as they come into view rather than a whole tab at once, so opening a tab is quicker and you only wait for the tables you read. Load all still does every table, and says how many first.
Portfolio: back or lay each system
Each system in the Portfolio now has a Back / Lay switch. A lay system is read from the layer's side, so combining back and lay systems gives the right profit, return and bank curve, and its bets are tagged Lay.
Free page: today's longest travellers
A free page lists today's runners in Britain and Ireland by how far they have travelled from the trainer's yard, with each result once the race is run, and how runners have fared by distance travelled.
The racecard Win% as a System Builder rule
Combined Score Win % (RM) is the chance of winning shown in the racecard's Win% column, as it stood before the off. It is now a System Builder rule and a breakdown table, so a system such as the top Win% runner given a 20% chance or more can be back-tested, saved and followed in Today's Qualifiers. It is a column in Data Export too, and Ask RaceMetrics now works the Win% out over every runner in the race, so its answers agree with the System Builder. A member's idea.
System Builder: a Full Move breakdown table
The Market tab has a new Full Move table: how a system did when the money came for its runners between the evening and the morning prices, and when it went against them, in the same bands as the racecard's Market Movers tab. Typing "steamer" or "drifter" in the rule search now finds the Full Move rule too.
Racecard previews: no early Top Pick, and a fuller read for the big races
Until a race's preview is written, the racecard now says it is on its way instead of showing a Top Pick that the preview might then change. The day's biggest races (Class 1 and 2, and races worth £20,000 or more to the winner) get a more detailed preview.
Market Movers: the trainer under each horse in the top lists
The steamers and drifters lists on Market Movers for the day now show each horse's trainer under its name, as the race tables further down the page already do, so you can see whose horses the money is for at a glance. A member's idea.
The jockey's own percentage of rivals beaten: 14 days, 28 days and five years
Each runner now carries its jockey's percentage of rivals beaten (PRB) over the last 14 and 28 days, to sit beside the trainer's, and over the last five years with the number of rides behind it. The five-year figure covers the same years as the jockey's PRB for today's trainer, so the two read side by side: a higher figure for the trainer means the pairing gets more out of the rider than usual. They are System Builder rules, columns on My Card (J PRB, J PRB 14d, J Rides 5y, J PRB 5y) and columns in Data Export. A member's idea.
Sire figures: today's race type and class, more on going and trip, and wins
Every runner now carries its sire's record on today's race type and at today's class: runs, wins, strike rate, percentage of rivals beaten (PRB) and actual wins against the wins their Betfair starting prices expected (A/E), back to 2018. The going and distance figures gain a PRB, every sire figure now has its wins beside its runs, and the sire's record on tracks shaped like today's adds direction, bends, rise or fall and the climb in the straight. They are System Builder rules and breakdown tables, and columns in Data Export.
Race Compare: pace, finishing speed and upgrades
Race Compare now tells you when the two races were run at different paces. It measures how strongly each field finished against an even pace for its own race, and says how many lengths that is worth over the stretch you are comparing, so you can see when one race's closing times flatter it. You can also add finishing speed and upgrade columns to the list, see both for the two horses you pick, and switch the chart to Pace vs par to see how each horse spread its effort through the race.
Racecards: a FAV? pill flags a vulnerable favourite
When the favourite is shorter than 2/1 and its trainer or jockey is Cold on Form Temperature (5° or below), a red-outlined FAV? pill now sits beside its name in every racecard view. Hover over it, or press and hold on a phone, to see who is cold and their last two weeks. It uses the card's latest morning, breakfast or evening price, and it is rare on purpose: about one short-priced favourite in sixty. A member's idea.
Hot & Cold Trainers: put meetings together, and a 28-day view
Click a second meeting to see both together, Perth and Fontwell say, for the whole jumps picture; All meetings goes back. A new Form over choice scores every yard over the last 28 days as well as the usual 14, for a steadier picture of how a stable is going. The racecard pills stay on 14 days.
Race Guides: click a Horse Stats figure to see the runs behind it
Click any figure in Horse Stats or Horse Form on Going and the runs behind it open underneath as full form lines, with the sectional figures for members who have the Sectionals add-on. Click it again to close.
Race Guides: all-weather going first on an all-weather race
On an all-weather race, the all-weather, Tapeta and Polytrack columns now come first in Horse Form on Going, Sire Going and Damsire Going.
Race Guides: Form from, and Horse Stats worked out from the runs you pick
A new Form from strip above the tabs picks which race types (and handicaps or not) of each horse's past runs the guide reads. It opens on today's race type. In the Line Up the form figures grey out the other runs, and Horse Stats and Horse Form on Going are worked out from the runs you pick and your filters, with a new course and distance column and today's going picked out.
Systems record: 3 months and 6 months
Your systems' record on the Today's Qualifiers page now covers the last 3 months and 6 months, as well as 7 days, 30 days and 12 months. Click a system's name for its own record, or open Report to see every active system side by side. Settled results only, at the Betfair Starting Price.
My Ratings in Data Export
Your own My Ratings figures can now go into your Data Export files: the pre-race figure and rank, the figure from the last run, and the figure earned in the race. Choose which of your scales or imported sets to use. The pre-race columns work on declared cards too.
Race Compare: two races side by side, furlong by furlong
Line two races up using their sectional times. Start the clock at a furlong marker both races pass, and every runner from both races is ranked over the same stretch, in seconds and lengths. For example, compare the last two miles of a 3m handicap hurdle with a 2m Graded hurdle on the same card. A runner that got within a length of a horse in the other race is highlighted, a chart puts one horse from each race against the other, and a short check says in plain words when the two races are not like for like. Open it from any race's Sectionals.
System Builder: My Rating Rank last time out
A new My Ratings rule: where the horse ranked on your own scale in its last race, so 1 means it was your top-rated there. It is known before the off, so it works in your daily qualifiers as well as in back-tests, and it has its own table on the Breakdowns tab.
Race distance on the dashboard race boxes
Each race box on the dashboard now shows the distance first, for example 1m 2f 50y, followed by the class and prize. It is on the upcoming cards and on the results.
Bet Finder is now in the Racecards menu, beside Race Guides
Bet Finder now also sits in the Racecards list of the menu, straight after Race Guides, as well as under System Builder, so it is easy to find on a phone too.
Bet Finder: Slow Breaker and Good / Bad Draw on Proform's own rules
Slow Breaker now picks a horse that has broken slowly at least three times and in at least half of its Flat runs, in Flat races only. Good Draw and Bad Draw now read how each stall has done at the course and trip: a good draw is a stall whose runners have won at least a quarter more often than their share, a bad draw at least a quarter less often.
Race Guides: a firmer in-running positive
The positive for a horse that trades short in running now needs at least five runs where it traded at half its Betfair starting price or lower, making up most of its runs, or three such runs that are all of its runs. Fewer runners are flagged, and the flag means more.
Race Guides and Bet Finder use the full width of the screen
Both pages now stretch across the whole window, so more columns fit on a wide screen without scrolling.
Race Guides: your filtered figures coloured against the benchmark
In the Summary and the Trading Data, the filtered row (the runs that pass your filters) is now coloured against the benchmark row (every run): green where the horse did better on the runs you picked, red where it did worse. The figures are shown to two decimal places.
Race Guides: every past run, a page at a time, and going matched on how the ground rode
Horse Form now lists every run since 2018, a page at a time, and you choose how many runs show on each page. Match This Race: Going now compares the ground each past race was actually run on with today's going, so the runs it picks are the ones on similar ground.
RaceMetrics has a new look, with light and dark modes across the site
Every page now wears the same clean look as Race Guides and Fast Results: clearer tables, the same header and menus on every page, and a sun and moon switch at the top of each page to change between light and dark. Each page remembers your choice. The racecard and most pages open in light; the dashboard, Market Movers and the sectionals pages open in dark. Nothing has moved or been taken away: every column, filter and tool works as before.
A new look, starting with the dashboard and the daily list pages
The dashboard, Notifications, Market Movers, Hot & Cold Trainers, Runners A-Z, Non-Runners, Hard-Luck Finder, Best Fits, the profile pages and the race result page now share one cleaner design, with a light / dark switch in the header. The dashboard opens dark; every other page opens light. More pages follow.
Fast Results: how the ground is riding, from the race times so far
As a British turf meeting is run, Fast Results reads the winning times and says how the ground seems to be riding, meeting by meeting, from the second race on. It is an opinion from the clock, labelled as one.
Rail movements on the racecard before racing
When the rails have moved and a race will be run further or shorter than advertised, the racecard now says so before the off, taken from the British Horseracing Authority's own published distance changes.
A written preview of every British and Irish race on the racecard
Each morning every race gets a short written preview on its racecard, with the runner it likes and a one-line verdict. RM Pro and Proform Premium members can read the full piece.
Rail movements on the racecard, the race result and Data Export
A race run over a longer or shorter trip because the rails had moved now shows the change in yards beside the distance, on the racecard and on the result.
Results on the racecard minutes after the race
Open a racecard once its race has been run and the first four are shown at the top, with the place pills on the runners, marked provisional until the official result arrives overnight.
Results as they happen on the dashboard tiles and the race result page
Today's race tiles show the winner and starting price as soon as each race is run, and yesterday's results appear before the overnight file.
Live results on Today's Qualifiers, Market Movers, Hot & Cold Trainers and Runners A-Z
Each qualifier, mover and runner gets its finishing position beside its name as its race is called, with a running tally such as 2 winners from 9 run so far today.

Returns at early prices now allow for Rule 4 and dead heats
System Builder returns at the evening, breakfast and morning prices are settled as a bookmaker would, with Rule 4 deductions for late withdrawals and dead heats paid at part stake.
Owner breakdown with the spellings combined
A new breakdown that puts an owner's runners together however the name is written on the card, so one owner is one row.
Irish going descriptions on the form lines and racecard
Irish races now show the going as officially worded, Yielding included, with an IRE switch on the form lines, while every filter keeps working on the usual scale.
In-running comment rules reach back four runs
Search the race comment from two, three or four runs back, or any of the last few runs, so an eye-catching run is not lost behind a poor one last time.
Breakdowns show when a strong-looking line could be luck

September 2026 37 changes
The Grid carries every Breakdowns figure
Every figure in the Breakdowns tables, including returns at each price, can now be shown in the two-way Grid.
Official rating against the top-rated in the race
